W4W Kenya has partnered with Healing Waters International and One Child to drill a 340m deep replacement borehole at New Life Home Trust (NLHT) Nairobi.
NLHT has rescued more than 2,200 abandoned children since inception in 1994 giving them “new life” quite literally.
Increased demand for water has led to drilling of more and deeper boreholes in Nairobi and its environs.
During this year’s World Water Day on 22nd March 2022, Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director for Water & Sanitation, Mario Kainga, said the capital lacked a consolidated and comprehensive data on the status of groundwater.
W4W is playing its role in creating sustainable groundwater exploitation by ensuring boreholes it drills are permitted and registered. Compliance with abstraction guidelines is also adhered to.
